International Institute for Counterterrorism Studies is licensed by the Department of Higher Education in the State of New Mexico, Title 9-30-96, 5.100.2.1 NMAC - Rn & A, 5 NMAC 100.2.1, 5-15-01; A, 07/31/05. As a part of our licensing procedure and licensing renewal process, IICTS must submit materials to the Department of Education for review including, but not limited to, curricula, course materials, qualifications of Faculty Mentors and administrative staff, methods of operations, and financial records proving stability. Additionally, International Institute for Counterterrorism Studies submits to on-site inspections by the New Mexico Board of Higher Education. The International Institute for Counterterrorism Studies is not yet accredited by a regional accrediting organization in the United States at the time of publishing. Accreditation is a voluntary process and is not a requirement by the US Department of Education to grant degrees. The State of New Mexico requires institutions to acquire accreditation within 3 years of licensure from one of the regional accrediting bodies. IICTS
is presently preparing an accreditation application to a
regional accrediting agency, but all institutions throughout
the United States must wait 2 year before they can apply for
accreditation with a regional accrediting agency. It then
takes approximately one year after application to achieve
award of the accreditation.
